Moisture Barrier Products for Skin Protection and Prevention
Moisture barriers are creams, gels, ointments or pastes specially formulated to protect the skin from excessive moisture due to incontinence, perspiration or wound drainage to prevent moisture related skin damage. Moisture barriers should be used on Stage 1 pressure injuries, on peri wound skin to prevent maceration and on pressure points and bony prominences for the prevention of skin breakdown.
